what is better gun for Penn?

i have a dilemma what to use, im a noob. a triple mark 7 14 inch gun or a dual mark 2 16 inch gun? i have low range and baaad spread.. help please...

You might try the 12" guns and see what is better.

penn 1930: lvl58 triple 14" Ls or lvl 52 triple 12" Ls
penn 1943: lvl70 triple 14" Ls. 
Light HE shells of course.  
 
as for your spread, boosting and adding experts/veterans onto your gunners will help.

Penny 30: Mark 10 L 14" Triples
Penny 45: Mark 7 L 14" Triples
 
You can try the 12" guns on the 30 but spread is the same.
Do not use the 16" duals on the penny, you gimp it of its major advantage, its 12 shell salvo.The US 14" Trips do not block, their spread is pretty wide even at 120. If its really bad, as mentioned above, Vets and boosts on your gunners can help.
All CA and BBs should have Light HE or if that's not available, HE.

I kind of wished that I went for the safe Tenn instead of "trying something new" (I already have Colo at that time)

However I do have to admit, after grinding the Colorado, Penny, and Tenny; the New Mexico was absolute crap.

Use Dual 16'... Better shell damage, way better spread and better Armor Penetration against AW UK BBs
Yea shure, Angle 30 its easy to master and 12 salvo round its also nice, but the fact is that US 14's have low punch against big BBs and their spread its not cool.
 
BTW, when i use 14 Mk 10 my shots are close to block, and my gunners are just arriving lvl 100 (Base 12 Acc 11 Rld Boosted with 140 vet and full expert) Classed Acc>Acc>Acc
 
going back from OT, penny its the best bb2 except for Colo use it with dual 16's and prepare yourself for no less than 40k per battle
