I think it would be a good idea that Radiomen at certain levels can call in Aerail support from off map ground bases that can bring in a choice between bombers or fighters. To prevent this feature from becoming a game breaker this ability would have a very slow recharge of at least 5 minutes and the fighter aircraft from radio support would have slightly less fuel time than their carrier based counterparts, as the land base fighters would be flying at the edge of their operational range. Also the player wont get any bonus to xp or credits from damage the support aircraft have done. At the moment I can only list the US radio support planes.

Bombers:
Tier 1: lvl 25- 3x B-18 Bolo
Tier 2: lvl 40- 3x B-25 Mitchell
Tier 3: lvl 65- 3x B-26 Marauder
Tier 4: lvl 90- 2x B-17 Flying Fortress
Tier 5: lvl 110- 2x B-24 Liberator

Fighters
Tier 1: lvl 25- 5 x P-40 Warhawk
Tier 2: lvl 45- 4 x P-63 Kingcobra
Tier 3: lvl 70- 3 x P-47 Thunderbolt
Tier 4: lvl 95- 3 x P-38 Lighting
Tier 5: lvl 110- 3 x P-51 D Mustangs (Note: F8F- 1B Bearcat replaces the P-51 on the carriers)

Radiomen can call in Land Based Aerail support

So someone can call in an atomic bomb and destroy any ship they want? Even a fully armored QV or what? Because in real life (i know NF=/=real life) the neveda got sunk with 2 atomic bombs. So if a neveda can take 2 nukes then...
The nuke bomb B-29 is mostly there for a joke. Battleships could wistand an air burst nuke but an underwater nuke exlposion would most likely cause enough structual damage to the hull to permanently put the battleship out of action if not sink it

The ship would survive an air burst nuke, the crew on the other hand wouldn't be so fortunate.
I believe the Neveda took 2 direct hits from the nuke where the nuke hit the deck then exploded. The first one crippled it so it couldn't move anymore. The second destroyed it.
Considering neither of the atomic bombs during the test made direct contact with the ships. You can't call that a "Direct Hit", Nor could you say it couldn't move anymore since the tests ships were never planned on being used again anyway. One bomb was detonated near the middle of the test formation in the air, the other underwater. None directly hit any ship. The ships were damaged by the shockwaves and became highly radioactive. In a real battle, an atomic bomb detonated near a battleship would end it. The minor shockwave damage would be magnified by the entire crew being seriously crippled or dead from the immediant exposer to radiation. The ship would be abandoned since it wouldn't be safe to board and would eventually sink if not scuttled.
