Crewmembers 50 limit

Is there a way to get past the 50 limit for crewmembers that is a combination of on/off boats across all nations?   I have separate crews for each type of ship (BB,CV,CA,SS) for different nations and don't want to have to upload/download them from the storage area.   I am been away from NF for awhile and want to build crews for the Italian tree.   I know how to expand the docks for additional ships, but how do you get past the 50 crew combo limit?

HQ is for that reason, put saiors you are not currently using into HQ and will open spaces

You will have to use the HQ space. They tried increasing the # of sailors you can have out at any given time a few years back and it caused serious (and game breaking) issues. The engine just wasn't built for it.

Thanks for all the replies.  I actually have an extra page full of HQ spaces due to specials NF had when I played a few years ago.  So I will go that route.I could see the system having a problem if you had 50 or more crew at the dock, but most of mine are on ships.  I will just put some of my crew sets up in HQ and swap them out when needed.
