Shells too far

I realize this may be an extremely stupid question, but it's been too long since i've played the game and i can't quite remember :p
  My shells are landing FAR past of my "line sights" (as i call them :p) and i can't even see them land, thus there's no mark and i have no idea of the range in my BB. I do have the correct FCS, I just can't remember if this is a glitch in the game? Is there a button i pressed on the keyboard by accident? or is it just because my BO is too bad for the guns right now, which doesn't completely make sense to me because why give a requirment to a ship that you can't even use properly.
 
  If someone can give me an answer i'd really appreciate.

Your BO needs more experts/vets. And i accidently clicked recommend 4 times, thought it would unrecommend it by clicking again.

The length of your lines is defined by your FCS and the skill of your BO, if your FCS is correct then you need to improve your BO with some experts or more vets.
 
Your BO should always be able to make lines long enough for a ship of his level, but how many experts and vets he needs to achieve that is a different matter. Also, if youre playing alot of night battles since that is todays daily boosted room then your lines will be cut shorter than usual because of the effects of night battle.

if this happened when you are playing Night battle its because of the mde. The guide lines get shorted to simulated the darkness.

Brought my BO up to EBVE, no issues now even in night battle. Thanks for clearing that up for me, I appreciate it!

Now cut him back down so his lines are the exact length of your maximum range.
