Government ID requirement for returning players?

What's the reason for requesting a government-issued peice of identification for returning players who want to recover their ships/sailors? I don't see how that's a reasonable request, considering they don't have any other picture of me to compare and confirm the ID is actually mine.What information from the government ID is needed, so that I can at least blur out everything else that SDE don't need?<br/><br/>Binned by vinnson
