So obviously with the coin event everyone is going to be deciding on which ship they want to spend their coins on. Anyways, I'm not quite to high enough levels to use any of the French ships I've been considering to use my coins on...but will be soon.  I figured I should ask here to see if anyone has an opinion on which ships to choose assuming I am not to BB level. (Or CL level at that...my MN crew has been sitting for sometime hahaha, figured it was time to work on them again)I am pretty stuck on getting a Mandel for AAing down the line. But after that I'm not so sure. Assuming we can get 180 coins max and the Mandel is 55. That leaves me with 125 obviously. So I've been considering a Dunkerque (60 coins) and possible a Ebb1 (65) assuming I get all 180. But I've also been considering a Le Havre which is a Ebb2? (70 coins) but that would prevent me from getting a Dunkerque. So basically my question is if a Dunkerque or Le Havre would be a better option? Or something else I guess.

[/QUOTE]Alright I figured that would come into the decision a bit too. From what I've seen the ship seems pretty nice to play too. I have no idea about a ebb3, I would assume so since all of the older nations have them.

You should get the LeHavre for sure.  It is the Lyon on roids.  The Mandel(though the AA will suck at lvl) first so you can skip the Corbet n Lyon.  Then LeHavre and skip the Lyon/Stras.  I played LeHavre straight till BB4 and enjoyed the grind.  Have a I got a 225K attack screenshot somewhere.

Are none of the ships in between really worth playing at all?

In my preference I'd choose the Dunkerque over the Le Havre. I cannot think of any ship that was more painful for me than the Lyon (Hence the Dunkerque I bought). And if it's anything like the Lyon don't get it. I would suggest you pick up the Mandel as soon as possible (It looks to be an amazing ship and a real game changer in Blitzkriegs.) After that you can choose your line (Courbet or Bretagne, which I picked the Courbet). You can AA those levels or use your BB, although the remodels of those two ships aren't quite as painful. I got the Dunkerque at level 70 simply because the Paris wasn't cutting it for me. Long story short: The Dunkerque has some impressive range. I don't have first hand experience with the Le Havre but I wouldn't trust French range until BB4. So go with the Mandel and then the Dunkerque, in my opinion.Hope this helps.

Hmmm so from these replies I have determined one thing...I am getting a Mandel for sure. HahahaI guess I'll just have to decide. Honestly, I'd love to try and play as many of the true bbs as possible, I mean sure some of them may not be worth playing over the Dunk or Le Havre but i want to at least try them out. I'm still not sure though, because I've seen both ships play good and bad, and I like the fact that the Le Havre is an event only ship...however, I got an event only ship last year for my US crew too (The New York) and haven't used it at all. Hmmm....

just dont get a Danton, unless you are a EBB1 collector, i have one (i also have RN and IJN EBB1) and i played it twice then switched back to the CA's before hitting level 53 and buying the mandel. having said that i know i will go back to it for the odd battle or two, i like rare ships and the EBB1's are still that, in fact i cant remember seeing more than 2 others on Kaiser and dont think i have seen the SN EBB1. (and for this reason i am going to remod the MN BB1's into the BB2.5's)having said that if you can afford to buy PCA/PBB then the event ships are great as you can get something that money cant buy, if you dont like the Danton/le harve no big thrills go spend some olives. if however you cant (for what ever reason) buy olives then the PCA/EBB is the route i would go.
