AAW
vor2121]
What's the point of playing USN outside of a CV?
Well, some people don't care about AAW, since I'm can aim AA, I was depending on the USN crew and ship to have the best AAW so I would not be CV bait.
So whatI am suppose to do with a Elite/premium US crew?

This change is years old, USN has since been balanced with consideration to AAW not being a national advantage. They remain a well rounded nation, average in every area at worst. Their best advantage is they don't really lack in any area, and mostly they do quite good damage or are quite fast, plus they have the fastest reload at BB4, 5 and 6, faster even than RM.
AAW has very little to do with the ships actual AA. That little machine gun that fires when aircraft are close, that is the AAW. The more ability the crew had in AAW, the more effective that gun would be. As I said, ships still have their natural AAW stat and USN ships naturally have some of the best natural AAW stats (Even if you exclude the oddly high Sodak with it's 381) averaging around 270 around BB3-6. While RN is also very good with AAW on their ship stats, some nations like MN and RM average around 220, and KM and IJN barely exceed 200.
Depending on who you ask, USN is also seemingly blessed with the best BB6. I've never used it so I don't know what to say about it, but I would assume it has something to do with it being mostly above average at everything, giving it the strongest combination of offense and defense. With no weakness and the strength to counter every other nation in some way, it is fairly powerful afaik. Although for BB only games, the Kaiser is probably the better choice. |
