For first time CVs, I would do 5 FPs and 3 other DB or TB. If 5 sounds like a lot, then sell of the 5th one for credits.

Assuming you want to continue on to CV5+Get at least 4 FP.My favorite setup is 5 FP and 3DB/TB. This way, you can launch 3-3-3 fighters, then 5-5 fighters, then 3-3-3 bombers.Fighter heavy options include 6 FP and 2DB/TB or 8 FP.Bomber heavy (NOT RECOMMENDED) options include 2 FP and 6DB/TB.A balanced option (That is actually slightly bomber-heavy) is 4 FP and 4 DB/TB.I recommend not splitting your bomber pilots (Like 2 DB and 1 TB) as that will make everything worse. If you plan on using the 4/4 setup, splitting into 2 DB 2 TB is acceptable.OH. Since CV6 has 9 support slots, use the 9th slot for an engineer or seaman.
